14 Things We Learned From Daniel Bryan On Talk Is Jericho

8. Stripping Him Of The Title

The figurehead of The Yes Movement asserts that the plan was to never actually strip him of the title, pointing out that had he done the surgery when the injury initially occurred he would have been back in six to eight weeks. They would just try to work around his absence until it came time for his scheduled title loss at SummerSlam. Unfortunately the nerve had been pinched for so long that it took an extensive amount of time to heal. There was talk that a second surgery may be required for his elbow and what was originally a couple of months became nearly a year. Bryan admits that he thought they should have stripped him of the title right away, saying it would have completely gone against the logic of his story with the Authority if they allowed him to keep it.
