14 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Aug 22)

4. Eddie Kingston Is Up To No Good

"Nah, nah, nah!"

Fire inevitably follows these syllables in AEW, as Eddie Kingston stomps out from the back and cuts his customary killer promo. He did it again last night, stopping the Lucha Brothers and The Butcher and The Blade from pulling each others heads off after their loss. "We were out on the indies, suffering, now we're on TNT... they know drama, so why do we have to do drama?" he asked, saying the only way anyone could beat these guys is if they stay divided.

Each individual got put over before Eddie said he'd take them to the promised land, having called Butcher one of the baddest men in the company, Pentagon the craziest luchador around, Fenix an all-timer, and Blade a seasoned road dog who understands that the last due to pay is death. "Come with me, walk with me, and everything we want will be ours," he said, pulling everyone in together, flashing the camera a sly wink as the set piece came to a close.

Whose strings is Eddie pulling here? Possibly everybody's. Either way, great to see one of the best talkers in the sport sliding into his first true AEW storyline here, having cut another tremendous promo on TNT. 17 years in the sport and there's still nobody realer.
