14 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up

Ups...

14. A Rivalry Reprised

Charlotte Flair Carmella
WWE.com

Former SmackDown Women's Champions Carmella and Charlotte Flair reprised their middling rivalry last night. Lasting little over seven minutes, it was far from blow-away, but a solid, functional, neat, tidy television bout built on a textbook momentum seesaw format, with the right wrestler picking up the victory.

There were near-falls early on, as 'Mella blasted Flair with a Superkick then hit a cross body from the barricade, rolling 'The Queen' inside for another two-count. Later, Charlotte went into full-on show-woman mode. She kipped up, strutted around the ring, and slapped the p*ss out of her opponent, who fought back, only to fall to a chop block, the Figure Eight, and the inevitable tap-out.

The action was basic, but we can call it a success for giving Charlotte her necessary post-WrestleMania rebound victory.
