12. Bret Hart vs 1-2-3 Kid - Raw 1994
In July of 1994, WWE Champion Bret The Hitman Hart was on top of the wrestling world. He was scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against his brother Owen Hart, the following month at SummerSlam in a steel cage. But to make it there he had to get through a title defense against the always upset minded, 123 Kid. From Kids debut he was portrayed as a Giant Killer, toppling Razor Ramon in 1993 to the shock of everyone. Upon defeating Nikolai Volkoff to secure his shot at Bret Hart, he looked to ride that wave of momentum to his first WWE title. Conversely, not only was Bret Hart a fighting champion who took on all comers, he foreshadowed his match with The Kid at that year's Hall Of Fame where he praised Waltman in a sort of Ill see you down the road one day fashion. Subsequently, their duel became an instant classic. It was Bret Hart in his prime against a highflying babyface. Their contest was more in line with what would be todays wrestling standard, and it's amazing to think it took place 21 years ago. Bret was smart enough to milk the drama, and appear vulnerable enough to sell himself losing the championship. Shortly after Brets victory, the commentary team of Jim Ross and Macho Man Randy Savage declared it one of the best matches they ever saw, with not a tad of hyperbole. Who was the crowd cheering? - Bret Hart
