11. Triple H Vs Steve Austin - 3 Stages Of Hell Match (No Way Out 2001)

After a shaky start in late 2000 the Steve Austin comeback hit full swing in early 2001 with memorable Royal Rumble win and improved performances. Any questions of Austin ring rust were answered with his performance in this, a three stages of hell match with Triple H. A fantastic video package set the tone and epic nature of the match and the match was on. The first fall was competed under traditional wrestling rules, with Austin getting the win with a stunner. Next was a brutal street fight, won by Triple H after a bunch of chair shots, sledgehammer shots and a pedigree. The match had been phenomenal up to that point but the drama was cranked up a notch during the third and decided fall, contested inside a steel cage. Triple H sneaked a victory after he and Austin nailed each other with weapon shots and exactly the same time with The Game falling on top of a knocked out Stone Cold. The timing, psychology and execution of this almost forty minute match were simply magnificent. The two wrestlers worked extremely hard and brought a level of intensity and violence that is sorely lacking in today's product.
