9. Roddy Piper's Black Half At WrestleMania VI

Well now, this was incredibly racist, wasn't it?

Rowdy Roddy Piper was scheduled to face Bad News Brown at 'ManiaVI, but because Roddy saw how terrible Bad News was on the mic, he came up with an interesting idea to get round his opponent's shortcomings...

"Bad News wasn't the most pizazzywrestler, and I'm thinking to myself, I'm going to have to cut 40 promos on this guy and it was just like tourettes: half black."

Roddy was going to paint himself half black so he could do Bad News' promos for him. Brilliant, outside-the-box thinking on paper, but not so in practice.

Roddy told the story of the production meeting he, Bad News and Vince McMahon had about the match before his untimely death last summer. Within seven secondshe said "I'm going to paint myself half black". Vince replied "I love you".

Despite how problematic it could be, WWE went ahead with the plan. Rather hilariously though, Roddy couldn't get the paint off after the event and was to travel all the way from Toronto Canada to Portland Oregon looking like that.
