15 Biggest WWE Pay Per View Buyrates Of All Time

8. WrestleMania 20, 1,007,000 Buys

The 20th anniversary of WrestleMania in 2004 was promoted with a year build of marketing and had a card stacked with main event performers, which helped make it over a million pay per view buys. The 1,007,000 buy figure is in fact maybe a slight disappointment given just how well the matches were put together. Even the undercard was strong with Christian vs Chris Jericho, Evolution (Batista, Flair, Orton) vs The Rock And Sock Connection (Mick Foley and The Rock), Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle and the return of old school Undertaker against Kane. Any of those matches would usually be worthy of being a show closing main event. The honour of the last match on the card went to Chris Benoit who was victorious in a triple threat against Triple H and Shawn Michaels. It was one of the best Mania matches ever and gave us what felt like a truly special WrestleMania moment.
