15 Fascinating WWE Royal Rumble Facts You Need To Know
8. The Dibiases Are The Only Father/Son Duo To Each Be In The Rumble's Final Four
For as much emphasis as latter-day WWE has placed on hiring the offspring of some of their legendary performers, you'd think this would have happened more than once. Cody Rhodes has made it to a final four, but father Dusty (or, for that matter, half-brother Dustin) have not. Davey Boy Smith has made it to three final-fours, yet son David Hart Smith has never even been in a Rumble. As it stands after 28 Rumbles, Ted Dibiase, Sr. and Jr. are the only pair that has each made it to the Rumble's end. In 1989, The Million Dollar Man was runner-up after a trouncing by winner Big John Studd. Exactly twenty years later, Dibiase, Jr. came in fourth place in the midst of a Legacy three-on-one beatdown of Triple H.
