15 Greatest Dragons In Wrestling History

2. Tatsumi Fujinami

Species: Nominal dragon (draconis innameonlii)

Starting his career as a protégé of Antonio Inoki, Tatsumi Fujinami went on to help his mentor found New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1972. He also won WWE’s original Light Heavyweight Championship and took it to Japan, where it eventually formed part of Último Dragón’s J-Crown.

He was also the first man to hold the NWA and IWGP Championships at the same time. It's admittedly quite the résumé, but he was also a decidedly figurative dragon with nary a scale in sight. That said, his talent for innovative offense did bring the Dragon suplex and Dragon sleeper into the world.
