The departed team of Sin Cara and Kalisto always seemed like it would become a thing, and then it just never did. The Lucha Dragons were the team that finally took the NXT Tag Team Championships from The Ascension, at a time when that could be done by an infant tagging with his teddy bear, but then they unceremoniously lost to the aggressively bland Blake & Murphy.
Things seemed to look up for the pair after their promotion to the main roster, but they immediately tanked their credibility as a team in a disastrous Elimination Chamber performance.
