When Edge won the Royal Rumble in January, it's unlikely he imagined that the sign he pointed triumphantly at would be the first place he'd hear the boos of old. And yet, here we Rated-R.

Indeed, a build as lame as that joke resulted in the former comeback story of the decade morphing into another grizzled and gritty WWE tale about opportunity and moments and other bullsh*t platitudes that never meant a damn thing when Edge first got himself over. Fortunately, as his smile faded, Daniel Bryan's grew.

The Elimination Chamber near-miss against Roman Reigns appeared to only exist to put over their Fastlane rematch the following month. Instead, it kicked off the build to a far more satisfying three way along with the awesome and otherwise-dominant Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Not sure how we got here, not sure how enjoyable the journey was, but hard to argue with the end destination. 25,000 people with the fingers pointed skywards won't be.

Winner - Daniel Bryan
