15 MORE Failed Experiments From WWE Developmental

12. Angelo Dawkins

The Revival The Mechanics
WWE

Angelo Dawkins has been at this a long time.

Longer than that. Longer than you think. 2012, to be exact. Angelo Dawkins has been in the market leader's system over 13 years. It's a story of perseverance, patience and consistency, and quite honestly a story more interesting that most of the ones the Street Profits have been given for the bulk of over half a decade on the main roster.

Before having to contend with pandemic bin monsters, a woefully undercooked stable with Bobby Lashley and a years-long gap between title reigns, Dawkins was a singles wrestler who was a very literal happy-to-be-there loser. Full of beans as he entered, gimmicked up to the nines with backpack and headphones, he'd smile and dance his way to the ring before being carted out of it after yet another defeat.

Historically, the gimmicked jobber is - if nothing else - something that often opens other doors, and that's presumably what Dawkins was doing here. By at least getting noticed in singles and tag defeats, he kept himself visible until the pairing with Montez Ford finally rescued him from the churn.
