15 Most Surprising WWE Royal Rumble Entrants Of All Time
11. Mankind And Dude Love (1998)
Going into the 1998 Royal Rumble, Mick Foley was competing primarily as Cactus Jack in a tag team with Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk). Only Cactus Jack was announced as a Rumble participant that year, and he came in at number 1. His partner entered at number 2. Charlie eliminated Jack about ten minutes into the match.
Halfway through the Rumble, Mankind entered the match as entrant number 16 and eliminated Charlie. Mankind only lasted about three minutes before being eliminated by Goldust.
Toward the end of the match, the third face of Foley, Dude Love, entered at number 28 and made it to the final four with Steve Austin, The Rock, and Faarooq. Foley became the first wrestler to appear in the Rumble more than once, and it was a complete surprise that all three of Foley's alter egos were allowed in the match. He must have exploited some gimmick loophole, or something.
