15 Most Surreal WWE Moments

7. Bret Hart Enters The Hall

With Bret Hart, there's multiple surreal moments you could choose stemming from The Montreal Screwjob to add to this list. You could take the 1997 Survivor Series match itself, or his hug with Shawn Michaels in 2010. While you could make a case for both of those, let's go with Hart somehow reconciling with WWE and entering their Hall of Fame due to the sheer improbability of it all. After Montreal, the following years made Bret's story even more tragic. The documentary Wrestling With Shadows let viewers behind the scenes on what went down with him and McMahon that night. Besides Bret spitting on his face, he also knocked him out afterwards. No matter what side you fell on, it was hard to imagine the two parties ever working together again. Bret's book in 2008 was a scathing takedown on his former employer as well as HBK. In the time he was away, his former company made fun of him on air, he suffered a stroke, his little brother died in a WWF ring, and he stood by his sister-in-laws' side as she sued Vince for millions. It was a cold war between the two, but eventually the ice started to melt when the company was going to make a DVD on his career. He didn€™t want WWE to have the final word, so he agreed to participate. What was more amazing is that he showed up for the Hall of Fame in 2005 to be inducted by Steve Austin. No one would have blamed Hart for never showing up in any capacity in WWE, but the two sides somehow came to terms. Seeing an older Hart stand in front of thousands of wrestling fans in a company owned by Vince McMahon was something that seemed impossible just a couple years earlier.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
