10. Transitioning Into Her Character
Austin points out that she originally wrestled as Britani Knight, with Paige adding that she was called "The Norfolk Doll" which was also the name of a tag team she wrestled in, and asks her how she made the transition into the Paige character. Paige said she landed her first tryout with WWE several years ago, getting spray-tanned and wearing colorful make-up in attempts to be more "diva-like". She said it didn't suit her and made her uncomfortable, and her nerves caused her to bust open the lip of the lady she was working with. Six months later John Laurinaitis landed her another tryout - this time with Jamie Noble and Goldust - and she came back with her current look and attitude. She was trying out alongside her brother and the two were encouraging her to tag herself in so they could see her work more with him. Austin asks who and what the character Paige is, and she says that she's based on Stone Cold himself, and always wanted her to be someone who stood out from the crowd. She comments that Paige is basically her but an exaggerated version.
