15 Things We Learned From Paige On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

8. Dusty Rhodes

Paige mentions how much Dusty helped her, and Austin asks her to talk about The American Dream - someone he was also a huge fan of - and what he did for her. She remarks that he kept her sane, because there were a lot of times when the pressure of the job was really getting to her. Moving across the world by herself at 18 was a huge step, and Dusty took her under his wing and guided her, helping her ignore the negativity from her peers in developmental. She quotes Cody about how Dusty liked broken toys, showing much less interest in the talents who were already the full package, and said that he spent a lot of time with her and called her (in a Dusty accent) his "printheth." Austin asks what the best advice Rhodes ever gave her was and she replies that it was to save her money and not throw it all away. She talks about when he would run the promo classes, he would instruct her not to talk, and she struggled to come up with effective promos using only one sentence. She realized he was pushing her to improve but at the time it was incredibly frustrating. Paige then adds that The Dream told her she was the only person to ever call him a "motherf*cker" and get away with it.
