15 Things We Learned From Scott Hall On Steve Austin Show Part 2

3. Getting Clean And Sober

Truly inspirational and work that needs to continue. Austin asks what it was like getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, and comments on how different Scott looked since the last time he'd seen him. Hall says his life had changed so dramatically in that time that a year prior to that he arrived in Atlanta in a wheelchair. Austin agrees, adding that he "looked like sh*t" and he couldn't believe it was the same person. Scott says he was in a very dark place at the time, and while he never considered taking his own life he didn't care if he died because he'd completely given up all hope. DDP reached out to him - a guy who Scott says has always been a close friend to him - and brought him to his home in Atlanta. He's been back to his previous home in Florida to visit, but he was hanging out with the wrong people and didn't want to get back into that. Hunter contacted him and told him he'd wanted to reach out for a long time but the WWE's on-staff experts were saying that Hall needed to be completely away from wrestling in order to get clean. WWE had sent him to several traditional rehabs, none of which were working and they finally decided to take a different approach. They sent him to a facility in Texas where they gave him some in-depth psych counseling and began treating the root of the problem rather than symptoms.
