15 Things We Learned From Scott Steiner: Live And Uncensored

7. Fair To Flair?

This was Scott Steiner: Live and Uncensored, and no topic was off-limits. It was obvious from the get-go that fans were going to ask about all the usual suspects/Steiner enemies, such as Hulk Hogan and, yes, Ric Flair. A fan brought up Scott's infamous shoot promo on Flair. Y'know, this little doozy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC09wIT9Flo Steiner said what he said because he hated Flair and he hated WCW at the time and figured that, as a member of the nWo, that he could pretty much do what he wanted since that was their schtick. After running down the 16-time World Champion, Freakzilla walked to the back and expect to 'duck a sucker punch and have to kick his ass' but Flair was nowhere to be found. According to Scott, The Nature Boy was in his dressing room, crying. Steiner said that this was something Flair was known to do, which is why Sean Waltman used the water pump with fake tears bit during the Order's parody of the Four Horseman on Nitro (which also made Flair cry, apparently). Steiner told a story about how Dick The Bruiser asked Scott to tell Flair to carry his bags into the locker room when he made it WCW in the late 80s because he hated Flair too and said that he got his start in the business by carrying bags. Scott. not knowing anything about locker room etiquette or politics, was all set to do it before he was talked out of it by another veteran. No, Steiner does not like Flair, calling him a 'lying piece of s***' and having a particular disdain for his supposedly cowardly ways. As far as Steiner's punishment for the unscripted promo, they threatened to fine him $70,000 and suspend him but neither was enforced.
