15 Things We Learned From Sheamus On Talk Is Jericho

14. Career Before Wrestling

We learn that before he pursued a career in professional wrestling Sheamus worked in IT - one of the least stereotypical "before I was a wrestler" jobs ever. He said that he never had any goals outside of being in the WWE and his school steered him toward Human Resource Management, which he liked only because it was 95% female. That wasn't his thing, so he wound up in IT because it was really starting to take off when he left college. The two then discuss Wade Barrett being a marine biologist and working for a financial firm and that today's generation of wrestlers "actually have brains." Sheamus mentions that his specialty was network administration and he had landed a good job at a top company, but it was something he never had a passion for. He also spent a considerable amount of time working as a doorman and bouncer at some famous Irish bars and clubs, where he tells a story about meeting Bono and that he gets a bad rap because he's actually a pretty swell fella.
