15 Times Stone Cold Steve Austin's Ego Ran Wild In WWE

5. Walking Out On WWE

This was one of Stone Cold's most controversial ever moments. Already in an awful mood, he was none too happy when WWE told him he was going to be losing to Brock Lesnar on a Raw show in June 2002. He was further angered by having to work planned feuds with Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero, two guys he felt his character was above. Feeling WWE were disrespecting him, he walked out of the company. He simply didn't turn up for work. It was a huge statement on how Austin saw himself, and how he viewed WWE. Over the next few weeks, everyone from Jim Ross to The Rock criticised the walk-out. Vince McMahon was furious, but towards the end of 2002, bridges were mended.
