We're still a few clicks short of the early-2000s peak that saw teams like Edge & Christian, The Dudley Boyz, and the Hardys lift tag team wrestling to levels of prominence not experienced since the '80s, but the division's recent resurgence is undeniable.

WWE laid the groundwork with The New Day's recording-breaking title reign in 2016, but the in-ring standard has improved exponentially since January. Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods have been at the heart of it on SmackDown, delivering countless show-stealing performances in their feud with The Usos, who deserve tremendous credit for reinventing themselves as brooding heels. Both teams are at the height of their powers, and deserve to be rated alongside the Hardys and Dudleys of the world.

On Raw, Sheamus and Cesaro are currently in the midst of a career-best run as The Bar, and the reunited Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have been nothing short of excellent. Now free of their injury woes, The Revival look set to take this group to the next level in 2018.

If you're not paying attention to WWE's tag divisions, you're missing out on one of the best things about the product. Expect this to continue in the new year.
