15 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Happened In 2018

3. David Arquette Vs Nick Gage (Joey Janela's LA Confidential)

Is it that controversial to suggest a death match between the ginormous and terrifying Nick Gage and former Hollywood actor (and yes, yes, ex-WCW World Heavyweight Champion) David Arquette shouldn’t have taken place in the first place?

Probably not, but your writer admits that he didn’t make this point upon seeing the match advertised online. The only reaction was to pop - it’s the reaction Joey Janela’s somehow managed to draw time and time again with his brilliantly bizarre matchmaking over the past few years, though this was as close as he’s come to overstepping an invisible boundary since he crocked himself with a flipping piledriver from a stage.

Arquette looked half dead in the aftermath of the brutal brawl, and in as much as he’s not the best pro wrestler in the world, he’s not that great an actor either. Their bloody war hurt like hell because of course it bloody did, and bordered on abuse of an amateur had Arquette not been clearly so desperate to earn respect of those he himself clearly holds in such high regard.

Astonishing most of all is that David Arquette on his own steam has almost become something of a draw in 2018. Actual wrestling company WCW failed to achieve that when he nearly twice as young and thrice as famous.
