1. Gorgeous George Has The First Entrance Music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmb9Mr3CYGI Wrestlers always come out to theme music. Much like having pyro and a cool catchphrase, its simply something that every wrestler should have whether theyre on the indie circuit or theyre competing at the biggest stage of them all. You can thank one man for giving professional wrestling the sweet sound of music, and that man is Gorgeous George. Known for his flamboyance and pageantry, he insisted on coming down to the ring while the song Pomp and Circumstance played. Sound familiar? Its the very same song that Macho Man Randy Savage would end up using as his theme song many years later. When that song was hear, the fans knew who was coming out, and they were ready to boo him ferociously. It helped make him one of the most famous wrestlers of the 1940s and 50s, and its thanks to Georges love for that song that we now have all the classic entrance songs youve grown to love over the years. Its also the reason why we have the American Males theme song. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. What other landmark firsts do you know of? How obscure can you get? Mention them down in the comments below.
