14. The Mountie Gives The First Middle Finger - SummerSlam 1991

For most fans, Steve Austin pioneered the art of flipping the bird at the face of authority. However, years before Austin would even step inside a WWE ring, there was a different kind of authority figure who was giving the one fingered salute. Back at SummerSlam 1991, The Mountie competed against Big Bossman in a Jailhouse Match. It was your standard one on one match, but the loser would end up having to spend the night in prison. Mountie came up short and lost the match, and was immediately taken away by police. The poor Mountie had to go through all the usual steps that come with being put in jail. He got handcuffed, taken away in a police car, had his picture taken, and when it came time to ink his fingers for fingerprinting, Mountie told the cops, €œYou want the finger? Here€™s the finger!€ Mountie raised his middle finger to the cops who then proceeded to slam it down on the ink along with his other fingers. See it below at around 3.37; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x384evG7CbI It was quick, it wasn€™t flashy, but it happened. It was a tiny bit of €œattitude€ that wouldn€™t be fully realized as an era of wrestling for at least another five years.
