11. Jerry Colt vs Gordo Chihuahua Is The First Match At Madison Square Garden - 1963

The clock is going to have to rewind quite a bit in order to find this gem of a milestone. Madison Square Garden is home to many historic wrestling moments, most of them being WWE moments. The Garden was where Jimmy Snuka did the Superfly Splash off the cage, where Hulk Hogan won his first WWE Championship, and where the very first WrestleMania took place. But the first wrestling match at MSG goes even further back with the earliest known show taking place on February 25th, 1963. If you want to get technical, the very first match on the card, and therefore the first official wrestling match, was Jerry Colt taking on Gordo Chihuahua. The main event for the show was a tag match featuring Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard taking on Pedro Morales & Miguel Perez. Also on the show were such legends are Bruno Sammartino, Bobo Brazil, and the World Champion at the time Buddy Rogers. It was a packed show that was so successful that WWE (again, WWWF at the time) decided to go back to the garden the next month and for many more months to come. Now WWE just isn€™t complete without its annual trip to the Garden.
