16 Reasons 2014 Was A Terrible Year For WWE

16. Breaking Up The Wyatt Family

One of the most exciting groups that rose to prominence in 2013 was the Wyatt Family: Eric Rowan, Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt. Taking the gimmick of some strange backwoods cult, Bray spoke in a cryptic fashion that gave people the creeps. He had Eric Rowan as the goat mask-wearing menace, and Luke Harper, who managed to perform a lot of impressive moves. The Wyatt Family was primed to take one of the top spots in the company€until Bray ran afoul John Cena at WrestleMania XXX. Cena won against Bray at the event, and the Wyatt Family began losing momentum. While Bray himself feuded with Chris Jericho, Harper and Rowan began losing frequently in tag team matches. Finally, the WWE creative team basically pulled the plug on the Family, causing Wyatt to €˜set Harper and Rowan free€™. From about September to early November, the former Wyatt family appeared exclusively in promos, and didn€™t even have any matches. After a noted absence, Bray attacked Dean Ambrose at Hell in a Cell, and Harper and Rowan have moved on to feuding with one another after Survivor Series. Despite John Cena killing a lot of their momentum, the family really could€™ve used more time together as a stable. Even though some began to complain that Bray€™s promos were getting repetitive, they were nevertheless among the most interesting and unique promos on RAW. The Wyatt family, with their unkempt looks and powerful move-sets would€™ve allowed them to really dominate the Tag Team division, for example. As for Bray himself, he honestly deserved a win over Cena at WrestleMania. It€™s not like Cena€™s stock in the company would€™ve taken a big hit from losing to Bray. As of right now, all of their futures are somewhat uncertain. They are three Superstars who need consistently strong booking into 2015 if they are meant to have fruitful careers in WWE. If anything, the creative team can€™t second guess themselves on giving these guys the spotlight again.
