I don’t know whether you’ve heard, but Roman Reigns isn’t the most popular babyface WWE have ever pushed to the top. Reports from those in attendance at WrestleMania 32 indicate that a good three-quarters of the crowd were booing pretty much everything he did in the main event against Triple H, and the only thing more telegraphed than the outcome - him walking away as WWE World Heavyweight Champion - was the crowd’s overwhelmingly negative response to that victory.

Well, you can stop worrying! And start panicking, because according to falconarrow, Roman Reigns is going to be holding the gold for most of this year, if not longer...

“Honestly, I am guessing a while. From what I have seen till at least Summerslam.”

Most of people’s problem isn’t with Roman Reigns, however - it’s with the storylines he’s taking part in. He was woefully, horribly miscast as the underdog babyface struggling against a vicious, bullying boss, especially given Triple H’s refusal to let go of the ‘cool’ aspect of the cool heel role he’s been playing.

As long as they keep him from white meat babyface promos and keep him away from the Authority, this isn’t as bad as it looks: there’s plenty of scope for entertaining feuds and matches over the spring and summer here. And there’s some good news for everyone on that score...
