16 Things We Learned From Mark Henry On Talk Is Jericho
7. Changing His Character
When Henry explained to Vince how the rib made him feel and how passionate he felt about his career, he said that Vince told him a light bulb went off and that's when he realized the proper way to push him. He had someone cue up footage of the famous Patterson film of a purported sasquatch and played that alongside footage of an irate Henry destroying the backstage area and told him that "if we can get you to be that guy on camera and not kill someone, we can both make a lot of money." Henry says he was hesitant because he's aware he has a volatile temper and doesn't like to show that side of himself. He said he gets belligerent and drunk with hate, but he went along with it and the rest is history. He says that when people see him in the ring playing that character it's an interpretation of what he's like when he's angry and it's not a pretty sight.
