16 Things We Learned From Mark Henry On Talk Is Jericho

14. The World's Strongest Man

Chris talks about how Henry was coming into the WWE following a lot of press from competing in the Olympics. Henry says people ask how he can lay claim to being the strongest man in the world and he breaks it down by saying out of the three main sports - powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting and strongman competitions - and that no one in history other than him has ever won the national and world championship in all three. He details his powerlifting achievements by saying he had a near 1000 lb squat, a near 600 lb bench press recorded and a plus-900lb deadlift recorded which gave him the highest cumulative total of any lifter in history, while stressing that he was always drug free. In Olympic lifting, he was one of only two Americans to ever snatch 400 lbs. Henry says he wasn't even really aware that he was the only one to win all three until a fan pointed it out to him, and then credits fans for being so knowledgeable about his career such as being able to name exactly how many matches he's had. Jericho then brings up a story about a time Arn Anderson's locker was jammed and no one could get it open. Powerhouses like Chris Benoit and Ron Simmons spent 15 minutes trying to break the lock - even resorting to using a crowbar - until Henry walked in and pulled on it a few times and yanked it right off.
