16 Things You Might Have Missed From Last Night’s WWE SmackDown

7. Tom Phillips Talking Nonsense

Tom Phillips must have been distracted by something on SmackDown, because he randomly spewed out a lot of nonsense during the Xavier Woods vs. Cesaro match and seemed to get his wires badly crossed.

Looking to add context to the match, Phillips said that there was history between The Bar and New Day in Baltimore. In fact, Tom claimed, that history occurred in "this very building". He then referenced a two out of three falls bout "at Payback" between both teams that never happened.

After doing some research, Phillips must have been talking about the two out of three falls match New Day had with Cesaro and Tyson Kidd back at Payback 2015. That was quite the tenuous call though, because Sheamus was nowhere to be found back then and Tom didn't fully explain what he meant.

At least he tried, and it's nice to see announcers acknowledging history. Even if it's wrong.
