2. How Loose The Promos Were

Between Shane McMahon's hesitations, Randy Orton referencing Dixie Carter and calling AJ Styles a "son of a bitch", AJ bringing up WCW and dissing the RKO and Kofi Kingston speaking from the heart, there was a lot to like in SmackDown's promo output. This, as the intro said, is refreshing stuff.

It's good that WWE are letting talent do their own thing during segments now. The established scripting of before has become looser, and it's a welcome change. SmackDown felt like a landmark moment in that respect; every single interview gave workers a license to be creative and think on their feet.
