16 Worst-To-Best Matches Of WWE's Summerslam Weekend
7. The New Day Defeated The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons And Los Matadores
The New Day are so good at being bad that they outshined three other tag teams in one match. This is wonderful from an entertainment factor (the Jay-Z promo is one of the most inspired moments of the year NOT from Paul Heyman), but from an in-ring standpoint, this trio is distancing themselves so far from the rest of the tag roster that the rest of the teams desperately need to catch up. The New Day are special in that same way that DX and Edge and Christian were special. They need a team that operate like a Nation on the Hardy Boyz to push them along. Are the Prime Time Players that team? Or, is it a returning Usos? This is a story to watch. In the ring, the match was fantastic. These are three teams that mix talented newer performers with gifted veterans. When matches like these get cooking, they're poetry in motion as this one proved to be.
