16 Worst-To-Best Matches Of WWE's Summerslam Weekend
4. Kevin Owens Defeated Cesaro
In all actuality, Cesaro doesn't get one-tenth of the credit he deserves for being a great wrestler. He's kind of the ultimate babyface, this guy who can literally do anything, and is actually taking the time to learn how to do everything better. Kevin Owens is a sanctimonious prick of a heel character, the kind of guy who is so good at sh***ing on everything you love that you have to applaud his determination in not breaking character. Thus, this was the best "pure wrestling" match of the weekend. The unequivocally bad guy beat up the unequivocally good guy and then beat him with his finisher. However, WWE's a company that doesn't exactly do "pure wrestling" quite often anymore near the main event, so it's an awkward watch. It's odd that this is so unique at the top of the card in WWE, but it is. In a year, have this match again, and listen to how the crowd will respond. This idea of a re-emergent babyface vs. heel dynamic is something worth keeping an eye on for sure.
