17 Things We Learned From Eric Bischoff On Legends With JBL (Part 1)

12. Jim Herd

Talk then turns to Jim Herd, who ran WCW for a brief period in 1992 and was the one who actually hired Bischoff. Herd is a loathsome figure to many who worked under him in WCW and he has come into criticism for some of his wacky ideas and gimmicks. JBL brings up the infamous Ding Dongs tag team and can barely contain his laughter. Bischoff also cracks a smile at that one but says that he's had his fair share of bad ideas, too. Still, Herd offered Bischoff a guaranteed contract, which should dispel the old rumour that Bischoff was the one who first introduced them to wrestling. Larry Zybszko, who Bischoff knew from the AWA, came up to Bischoff and told him that if he signed he would have a 'job for life' and called it a train ride.
