17 Things We Learned From John Cena On Chris Jericho's WWE Network Podcast
10. The OVW Class
Jericho brings up Cena's class from OVW and asks if the guys in Ohio Valley were aware of what a great group of trainees they had when they were down there, including Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and Batista:
"Walking into a training session at Ohio Valley Wrestling was like Keanu Reeves walking into the waiting room of The Matrix, and seeing little kids bend spoons and float objects. You'd walk in and see this dude (points to Lesnar) doing the shooting star press, This guy (Orton), who made everything he did, even though he just go into the business, look...just so smooth, This SOB (Batista), bigger than a house, veiny, all looking crazy, and then just when you're like 'wow' in walks Shelton Benjamin, hops up to the top rope and just walks on the top rope."
He then shouts out several of the guys who never made it in WWE like Sylvester Terkay and Ron Waterman, as well as Rico Constantino who he calls his early mentor. He says he knew he wasn't a priority among the guys down there and Chris asks what he did to get called up to the big leagues, to which he replies that he just went out there, worked hard and did his best, while never being afraid to fail.
