17 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Chris Jericho

1. Teaming With & Feuding With Chris Benoit

WWE.comWWE.comWhat's the best match in Raw history? If you said the Jericho & Benoit tag title win over Austin & Triple in May 2001 then most people would agree with you. However, in WWE's world it's as if that match never existed. The part where Triple H tore his quad and kept on wrestling exists, but not the actual great match. Jericho said that this was the best match ever in Raw history on his recent Talk is Jericho podcast with Paul Heyman and Edge. He's right. It's the best. You can hear how hot the crowd was the entire time and when Jericho & Benoit won it was a win for the two upstarts that were trying to prove they could hang with the top guys. It's a perfect wrestling story within the context of a match and now it's completely forgotten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnporKcSiV4 There are other Benoit things that WWE ignores regarding Jericho. They great matches in the early 2000s with their 2001 Royal Rumble ladder match standing out the most. That Walls of Jericho on Benoit on the ladder was an incredible spot. We all know why anything Benoit related is forgotten by WWE. He committed a double murder and then killed himself in 2007. Jericho wasn't in WWE at the time, so he went on talk shows to talk about how Benoit didn't seem like the kind of guy that would do something like that. Most people in WWE were told to avoid talking about it, but Jericho represented the wrestling business well by being a well spoken man. Jericho has had a lot of fantastic Raw moments on "Raw is Jericho" over the years, but his best one might be a tag match that can't be celebrated by WWE anymore. That's a shame. That's it for this week's things WWE wants us to forget series. Here's a list of who I've written about so far: Undertaker, Kane, Vince McMahon, Triple H, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Ultimate Warrior, Steve Austin, Batista, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Scott Hall, Edge, Stephanie McMahon, Rob Van Dam, Trish Stratus, Goldust, Lita, The Rock and Booker T. The last two are done, but not posted yet. Who do you want to see next?
