One of the most compelling lines Daniel Bryan hit out with during his opening salvo was, "I’m making a change. I’m not gonna’ be the old Daniel Bryan anymore". That could've been a super-subtle nod towards his "New" Daniel Bryan days a few years ago.

It also kinda' encroaches on Apollo Crews' recent character development. He's been pointing out that humbleness got him nowhere in the promotion. Dan's words smacked of similar frustrations, but he stopped short of coming across as arrogant because of it.

He's the "New New" Daniel Bryan.
