Jim “Kamala” Harris (not to be confused with United States Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) ) debuted in the WWF in 1984, a year before the first Wrestlemania. The Ugandan Giant returned for over a year, starting in the summer of 1986, but was not booked at Wrestlemania 3.

Kamala returned again to the WWF in 1992 shortly after Wrestlemania, feuded with The Undertaker, and turned babyface shortly before 1993’s Wrestlemania 9. Despite Kamala being scheduled to face Bam Bam Bigelow at that event, the match was cancelled due to time constraints, and by Wrestlemania 10, Kamala was gone, seemingly for good.

The WWF’s focus on the “New Generation”, the impending Attitude Era, and a stint in WCW’s ridiculous Dungeon of Doom all seemed to put an end to any hopes for Harris to return to the WWF at all, let alone appear at Mania. Not until the Gimmick Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 17 did Kamala finally get a spot on the card, where he eliminated four men including his former handler, Kim Chee. Which brings us to our next entry…
