17 Wrestlers Who Took Forever To Get To WrestleMania (and Why)
10. Raven
Though he had previously wrestled as the obnoxious Scotty the Body and Scotty Flamingo, Scott Levy appeared in the WWF only as a manager in 1993. “Johnny Polo” managed Adam Bomb and The Quebecers before wrestling on house shows starting in October 1993. Though he usually came up short in those bouts, he defeated Marty Jannetty on Raw at the end of the year in his televised debut, no doubt surprising fans who saw him only as a loudmouthed rich kid from Palm Beach. Levy appeared at Wrestlemania 10 alongside Jacques & Pierre, who lost to Men on a Mission by countout but retained their titles.
Levy left the company in 1994 and totally re-invented himself in ECW as Raven. After memorable runs in both ECW and WCW, winning titles in both promotions, Raven returned to the WWF in September 2000. Most viewers probably didn’t realize he had even been threre before. The former ECW champion won the Hardcore Title en route to Wrestlemania 17, where he was defeated by Kane in a Triple Threat match also featuring the Big Show.
