5. Owens Steals The Spotlight
In a classic example of "throwing two feuds together" booking, Rusev teamed up with Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens to take on Dolph Ziggler and Ryback, their respective rivals. Their alliance turned out to be an uneasy one, as Owens eventually took his belt and went home, leaving Rusev to (unsuccessfully) fend off both babyfaces on his own. However, this was no surprise betrayal - the signs were there from the start. As Rusev stomped and posed in the middle of the ring to complete his entrance, the selfish Owens couldn't resist sidling into frame and reminding everybody of his recently-won championship.
