18 Most Intimidating Wrestler Nicknames

14. The Lethal Weapon

Whilst some on this list may have some badass sounding nicknames for their pro wrestling characters, there are other performers here who had a legit background in proving their toughness. Steve Blackman is most certainly in the latter group. As a performer, some initially questioned Blackman's charisma and value as an entertainment entity. He'd become quite the entertaining performer when alongside Al Snow, but throughout his entire WWF run he was always purely about kicking some ass. Blackman was a weightlifter and bodybuilder in the mid-1980s before turning his hand to professional wrestling, even early on working for the legendary Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling. Contracting malaria and dysentery during a 1989 tour of South Africa, Blackman would take nearly 2 years to recover. Even then, it took him another 4 years of physical therapy to fully get over all of this. And it was during this therapy that he began to train in martial arts, particularly tae kwon do and escrima. Dubbed The Lethal Weapon, Blackman's martial arts background was there for all to see during his WWF run, and this is one straight-faced superstar who you would not want to mess with outside of the ring. Since leaving the renamed WWE in late 2002, Blackman has gone on to run self-defence classes and teach jujitsu, wrestling and other elements of MMA.
