Swagsuke reveals that from 2002-2004 he was training in mixed martial arts and pro wrestling concurrently at the Inoki Dojo. During a portion of that time he was roommates with a young wrestler by the name of Brian Danielson - better known as Daniel Bryan - and former UFC light heavyweight champion and current middleweight contender Lyoto Machida.

At the time Danielson was the only one of the trio who could speak English (the Brazilian fighter spoke only Portugese) and it created a difficult atmosphere for the three of them to communicate. He jokes that Daniel would constantly make fun of them for their poor attempts at speaking his native language.

Jericho asks if Shinsuke studied English, and he says that most Japanese students begin studying the language in junior high school, but most of his fellow countrymen are embarrassed to speak it in public because of their difficulties with the pronunciation.
