Nakamura talks about his time working for CMLL in Mexico, and says that was the period during which he began to develop his current persona and signature characteristics.

He was ready to make some changes, so he switched up his gear, shaved his head and began wearing his hair differently and adopted the Michael Jackson-esque dancing and mannerisms. He says that the fans immediately caught on and loved it, but his New Japan employers were "p*ssed" because he was not the same character they were used to.

They wanted him to portray the more traditional strong style gimmick he had been using, but the the tragic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan caused him to put his life in perspective and realize you only live once.

He decided that he was going to live his life the way he wanted to and then made the choice to stick with the changes. Jericho compliments him for that and talks about how he always tries to reinvent or update his character every time he returns to WWE.
