18 Things You Might Have Missed From Last Night’s WWE SmackDown

2. Daniel Bryan Didn't Tap Out

Amidst the downer of seeing Daniel Bryan lose in the main event, it might've been easy to miss that he didn't tap out. Instead, Bryan passed out and it was the referee's call to motion for the bell. That finish protected him a little more than frantically tapping out would have.

It was similarly smart to keep Big Cass out of the finish. Now, after he booted Bryan in the head post-match, WWE can squeeze another match out of that feud before putting it to bed.

To recap, the submission finish made Samoa Joe look strong, gives him momentum heading into Money In The Bank, didn't make Bryan look cowardly and set the scene for his own pay-per-view match. Job done then.
