18 Ups & 15 Downs For WWE In 2023

UPS…

18. Gable The Magician

If WWE isn’t going to reward Chad Gable for his incredible 2023 by having him end Gunther’s historic Intercontinental Championship reign, they should create a new title for him to defend weekly.

Gable long has been a favorite of many fans, despite his piss-poor booking under Vince McMahon (Shorty G, anyone?) and inconsistent pushes. But at some point, WWE started treating Master Gable as a serious threat, first in the tag team scene alongside Otis, and then in the singles ranks by pushing Gunther to the limit.

Along the way, Gable continued to show his versatility by delivering genuinely funny segments. He manages to make magic on Raw every week, maximizing his camera time, whether it’s a five-minute match or a 90-second backstage vignette. He’s proven to be an invaluable member of the roster, and for the first time, it seems like WWE brass has recognized this reality and is treating him better.

Gable deserves acknowledgement for his work this year, and hopefully he will be rewarded with some singles gold in the new year.
