Later on in the show, Matthews' insufferable commentary continues as he begins to verge on heel, agreeing that EC3 shouldn't have to defend his title against a GFW wrestler, saying, "I think he's doing an injustice should he have to defend that title. He's holding onto the championship for you, for me, for the sake of our company, and if he loses the championship to PJ Black, what happens to our championship?" During the main event itself, Matthews continues, saying, "The fans should be behind EC3 tonight, the championship should not leave our company, the fans should realise that, so the chants of 'Let's go PJ' infuriate me, and should infuriate you." The Pope is pretty much stunned into silence as a result. Are TNA trying to make Matthews a heel? Or are they just trying to play up the idea of GFW as insurgents? Either way, Matthews' commentary here was more strange than convincingly angry. Just stop, Josh.
