2 Big Segments Announced For WWE SmackDown This Week

AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose... All part of this week's show.

As WWE continues their mission of turning SmackDown into an "A show" once again, the company advertised two big segments for this Thursday's broadcast on the USA Network. The show will be taped Tuesday evening in Ontario, California. The most anticipated portion of SmackDown announced on Monday evening will be a Chris Jericho/AJ Styles segment where Jericho will inform Styles whether or not he wants a third match with him at SmackDown. Styles wrestled The Miz in what was an outstanding match Monday evening on RAW, while Jericho did guest commentary at ringside. After the match, Jericho got on the mic to congratulate Styles and give his thoughts. Styles interrupted him and said he knows what he wants, a match at Fastlane. Jericho said he wasn't sure whether he does or not, before walking off telling Styles he'll let him know on SmackDown. The tease. Styles defeated Jericho in his first WWE singles match a couple of weeks ago on RAW; Jericho defeated Styles on SmackDown last week. It's a sure bet the two will face-off at Fastlane in the rubber match of the series. Styles going over at Fastlane to end the feud makes sense, and it will be interesting to see which direction WWE books Styles in following his program with Jericho. A feud with Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania would sure create some buzz. Also announced for SmackDown is a tag team main event featuring Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose taking on the Dudley Boyz. Following their return to WWE a few months back (and losing to just about every tag team on the roster), WWE seems determined to push the Dudley Boyz again. During RAW, Paul Heyman took part in an in-ring segment with Roman Reigns. At the end of the segment, the Dudley Boyz ran out and ambushed Reigns. Ambrose then came down to ringside to make the save for Reigns. Following the clearing of the ring, WWE continued to tease some tension between Ambrose and Reigns. The two will see if they can co-exist this week on SmackDown in what will be the final television broadcast before this Sunday's PPV.
