2 MAJOR Title Matches Set For Next Week's WWE NXT

Finn Balor and Io Shirai will both defend their NXT titles on next week's show.

NXT's top two singles titles will be on the line on next week's show, as WWE stacks the deck against AEW's Revolution fallout episode in what could be one of the final instalments of the Wednesday Night Wars.

Finn Balor will put his NXT Championship on the line against Adam Cole. This comes following weeks of tension, with Cole turning on Kyle O'Reilly and levelling Balor at TakeOver: Vengeance Day, where Finn successfully defended the strap against Pete Dunne. NXT's 'Prince' has been laid out twice since then and confirmed the title fight on last night's show.

Elsewhere, Io Shirai will defend her NXT Women's Championship against Toni Storm, which is another Vengeance Day extension. Shirai successfully retained her belt against Storm and Mercedes Martinez that night, though it was Martinez, not Toni, who was pinned in the Triple Threat.

The last time Storm and Shirai went one-on-one was on NXT's 22 January episode, with the bout finishing in a DQ. Balor and Cole, meanwhile, contested the vacant NXT Title last September, with Balor defeating Cole to take the strap after Karrion Kross had vacated it.

William Regal has also promised a landscape-altering announcing for next week's episode.
