2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 16 - Results & Review)

Ups...

2. Whistle Stop Tour Of Spots

Sammy Guevara Jeff Hardy
AEW

Few will remember the 'No DQ' effort between Sammy Guevara and Jeff Hardy a month from now, but that doesn't mean it deserves to join other nondescript bouts in the 'Downs' section. Memorable forevermore or not, Jeff vs. Sammy did carry some value and entertained in the heat of the moment.

That has to count for something.

The match was a fan-pleasing journey through some of Hardy's bigger spots and bumps. Sammy even hit a Swanton Bomb off one of those reeeeeeeally tall ladders, and crashed his hero through a table for good measure. Ultimately, nobody will talk about that in the same breath as Hardy's classic bumps, but it was certainly dramatic.

Perhaps the biggest compliment anyone could give the clash is that it would've shown up well on flagship show Dynamite. Jeff vs. Sammy wouldn't have looked out of place on a bigger platform, and it did at least shine a light on Rampage as a whole.

Again, that counts for something.
