2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 20)
1. How Did A 3-Minute Match Drag?!
Jade Cargill and Leila Grey beating The Vanity Twins might be the longest three-minute match anyone has ever seen. Even the announcers had to stall for time. In a three-minute showing! That should be impossible. If anything, they shouldn't be able to whizz through all of the story context in that timeframe.
You've got to wonder where Jade is going too. She's now 49-0, but an awful lot of her victories seem hollow and almost every single main rivalry she's worked has been underwhelming. Could this be the right time to try a babyface run? That's a genuine question, because TK is running out of sh*t for Cargill to do.
This Red Velvet fleeing the nest thing isn't interesting either.
It's another short-term story involving someone who isn't cast as a physical threat to Jade. Maybe she's just really hard to book, or something. One thing's certain: Jade/Leila vs. The Vanity pair was a waste of airtime on this week's Rampage.
